CoinMarketCap just announced the inaugural CMC Crypto Awards, a star-studded event celebrating the industry’s biggest achievements across networks, individuals, and technology.
The festivities run from February 21st to March 6th, culminating in the grand award reveal.
The selection process blends data-driven insights from CoinMarketCap, expert panel evaluations, and community votes, ensuring a well-rounded assessment.
CoinMarketCap CEO Rush Luton envisions the awards as “the Oscars of Crypto,” a glamorous platform to unite the industry and recognize the pioneers driving its evolution.
Eight prestigious categories await the nominees:
- Crypto of the Year: Recognizing groundbreaking innovation and lasting impact. Nominees include Ripple, Solana, Chainlink, Ethereum, and Toncoin.
- Crypto Leader of the Year: Honoring visionaries who combat FUD and champion progress. Nominees feature Changpeng Zhao (ex-Binance CEO), Brian Armstrong (Coinbase CEO), Ryan Selkis (Messari CEO), Vitalik Buterin (Ethereum co-founder), and Julia Leung (Hong Kong SFC CEO).
- Meme Coin of the Year: Celebrating humor and community engagement. Nominees include Pepe, Milady, Memecoin, Bonk, and Ordinals.
- Most Innovative DeFi: Awarding protocols shaping the DeFi landscape. Nominees are Uniswap, Unibot, EigenLayer, MakerDAO, and Friend.Tech.
- Most Innovative L1, L2, Cross-Chain Project: Recognizing advancements in scalability, security, and interoperability. Nominees include Arbitrum, Aptos, Axelar, ZKSync, and Celestia.
- Crypto Influencer of the Year: Applauding social media voices enriching the crypto discourse. Nominees are Lookonchain, ZachXBT, CryptosRUs, Wendy O, and The DeFi Edge.
- Bridge Builder of the Year: Highlighting established brands embracing Web3 to enhance customer value. Nominees include BlackRock (Bitcoin ETF), PayPal (PYUSD stablecoin), Reddit (Web3 avatars), Starbucks (Web3 loyalty programs), and Nike (fashion, sport, gaming, and Web3 partnerships).
